I want to thank you again for the great FTO Admin training last week.  We were able to bring a lot of ideas back to incorporate and I really feel it will reinvigorate the program we have started.

I will definitely recommend that we continue to send new FTOs to your training.

The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office Adult Detention Center began using the Kaminsky field training system in July of 2014. Prior to the Kaminsky system, our Corrections Field Training Program was lacking in the usual areas of solid, legally defensible documentation, a consistent method in grading a new employee’s performance, and a program monitoring tool for the FTO Coordinator. The Kaminsky field training system has giving us all those things and has added greatly improved approaches to how we present our “on- the- job” training program for our new officers.

Beltrami County Corrections, Field Operations, Communications, and Court Security Divisions all send their field training officers to the Kaminsky FTO Seminar Training. We find this training instills common sense practices, valuable documentation, and confidence in our field trainers who are responsible for the training and evaluation of new employees.

It goes without saying……then again sometimes you just got to say something. After 16 years as a Field Training Officer, and approaching 20 years in Law Enforcement, we owe a bit of gratitude to Kaminsky, Sullenberger & Associates. I climbed the ranks, from Officer, Detective, Sgt to Lieutenant. I joined everything from SWAT to Bomb Squad and Police Diver.

I’ve arrived at my 20th year knowing I owed a debt of gratitude to my first FTO. As a recruit I was lucky enough to be field trained with an agency and FTO that not only utilized the Kaminsky Field Training Concepts, but believed in them.

As a Field Training Officer, I faithfully trained using the Kaminsky methods and concepts producing countless successful officers. Possibly more important are the handful of recruits who didn’t graduate from FTO, those who just weren’t meant for this line of work. The hard truth, your field training program in all reality probably saved these individuals lives.

Most recently my agency, as well as two other agencies from my area lost, the bulk of their Field Training Officers. The impending graduation of recruits from the academy created an incredible shortage of field training officers. Amazingly enough, with only 3 weeks’ notice, you were able to travel to North Pole, Alaska to conduct another FTO training class. Overcoming the short notice, budget issues, all while enduring the -50 degree temperatures and almost complete darkness January in Alaska has to offer.

I, Lieutenant Chad Rathbun would like to settle my debt. Thank you, for the method and training I received as a recruit. Thank You, for the knowledge and ability to train my recruits with the Kaminsky concepts. Thank you for accomplishing what normally take months, in a matter of weeks. Finally thank you for getting our most recent FTO class done.

Sully, you and your staff at Kaminsky, Sullenberger & Associates have a direct positive effect on law enforcement beyond comprehension.

We selected Kaminsky, Sullenberger & Associates based on their intimate knowledge of the San Jose FTO program, their availability to provide training at our facility, and their reputation as outstanding trainers. We were not disappointed. We are exceptionally pleased with the training program they provided. The company was easy to work with and provided all materials and support needed for the course. The trainer kept the entire class involved and interested throughout the entire week; demonstrated an in-depth knowledge of adult learning and the FTO experience; and his time management was excellent, keeping the class moving.
